News from La Perla

Summer still seems to be on hold regarding the weather, but sunny greeting anyway from always beautiful Frigiliana!

Interesting fact: Spanish are really specific on when each of the seasons start. So, if you come from northern part of Europe for a holiday here and are wondering why people are still wearing ‘wintery’ clothes, it’s because the calendar says so. You may be wearing summer clothes, but since the official summer starts exactly on 21^st June at 18:00, you may see spring clothing among locals until then.

For the record autumn starts on 23^rd September at 01:05, winter on 21^st December at 21:00 and spring on 20^th March at 15:46. It is no crime to dress according to the weather, as also the locals mainly do, but we think this is interesting for people like us, coming from the north accustomed to dress up for any weather at any time of the year accordingly. And despite the first sentence of the blog, we are already wearing mainly shorts and T-shirts at this time of the year.

We have some good news for ‘true’ beach lovers. We are opening an extension of La Perla de Frigiliana in Nerja. Nerja Studio is about to be ready to receive bookings for the summer. Our Nerja Studio is centrally located near Torrecilla Beach and Balcon de Europe just at the start of the pedestrian area.

It is only a studio, but it is equipped and styled like all our apartments; cozy, comfortable and functional with everything you need for a perfect holiday. It has a sea view from the balcony, and you are freed from most of the street level fuzz because it is on the 5^th floor.

There is a garden with a large pool within the building blog and two roof terraces; another for sunbathing and another for laundry. From the roof terrace you can see Balcon de Europe and of course the Mediterranean Sea and observe the many fireworks connected to Nerja festivities.

There is a big electrical network renewal ongoing at the moment, but it should not disturb too much of your vacation in the Studio and even if the studio is wonderful, you shouldn’t waste your holiday in Nerja within four walls.
