Autumn greetings to all from Frigiliana! After a great summer with plenty of sunshine, the feeling of cooler wind, even rain and shorter days is a definitive reminder that Autumn has begun. It is all right though, since now you can enjoy doing different things than in the heat of the summer. And that’s what we are going to elaborate on in this blog.
We have still enjoyed day temperatures around 25o Celsius, and it doesn’t drop lower than 15o in the night, so you cannot really see the autumn colors here yet. You can see them, however, in Sierra Nevada natural park and what a great destination it is for hiking or biking at this time of the year.
At the ski station it is free parking now and some of the restaurants and cafés are open, so it is a perfect place for a pit stop.
If you don’t come with your own or a rental car, no worries, since there are plenty of hiking and biking trails that start close to our Villa. We can advise you and we also have plenty of maps and guides for the nearby routes.
Autumn and winter are perfect seasons for photography here since the weather is mostly crystal clear and the colors tend to be clearer and more visible than in the summer. That is one reason why we suggest paragliding over our beautiful landscape and pueblos. In just 30 minutes’ drive you can reach FlyCostadelsol – Vuela por la costa malagueña en parapente and do 15 to 45 minutes flights over areas of your choice.
If you are too afraid to fly, you can always try zip line ride of 1.3 km with a speed of over 100 km/h. This can be done in Parque de aventuras y Tirolinas en Málaga - SunviewPark and it is not only the zip line that is fun, but the route back to the starting point with an open roof off-road jeep. Hang on, since the route is bumpy!
For calmer things to do, we recommend visiting Inicio - Cueva de Nerja Nerja stalactite caves, or if you have a car, Acebuchal or Comares villages. You can get to Malaga old town by bus from Nerja, so that is also something that we recommend.

Here are just some of the things you can do here during autumn. We didn’t want to list Alhambra Palace or the famous hiking route Caminito del Rey, since unfortunately you need to book your visit weeks or even months before. Both are worth while if you make your travel plans well in advance.
