What a summer! If everything is perfect, what more could you wish for? Maybe some tips for the Frigilianan cuisine and restaurants? In the last block we concentrated on beaches, so maybe now it’s time to reflect our and our guests’ experiences on the restaurants in Frigiliana. There are so many of them that we will cover only a glimpse of the variety and let you explore the rest.
Since we do not offer breakfast, but fully equipped kitchens instead, the best option for breakfast is usually DIY with the fresh baked bread from Panaderia Manolo (https://tartapan.com/panaderia-manolo-frigiliana-2/). It’s only 500 meters from us and opens already at 06:30.

If you feel lazy and want someone to serve breakfast for you, there are a couple of options: Café and bar Al Andalus (https://frigiliana.es/places/cafe-bar-al-andalus/) is just a foot step before Panaderia Manolo, so it is very close and they serve typical Andalusian breakfast from 07:00 onwards. Little further away, at the entrance of the old town at Plaza de las 3 Culturas is a bar called 3 Culturas and they serve Andalusian breakfast as well from early on. The last option opens at 09:00 and is called Café Caravarnasel (https://www.facebook.com/people/Caravansars-coffee-Frigiliana/100063526182489/). They serve more versatile and abundant types of breakfasts.
Basically, we can recommend any restaurant in Frigiliana, since we haven’t eaten in a bad one yet. It is of course always a matter of taste so you can’t really argue about it. There are many restaurants open for lunch and dinner at the Plaza de las 3 Culturas and even if it may seem like a tourist trap, it is not. We’ve had some of the tastiest seafood at Restaurant El Sacristan (https://frigiliana.es/places/restaurante-el-sacristan/) and almost next to it there is a restaurant called Gloria Benedita, which serves great fusion delicacies in case you want a change for a plain Mediterranean cuisine. Try the Patatas Bravas fused with kimchi (https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g580274-d12022826-Reviews-Restaurante_Gloria_Bendita-Frigiliana_Province_of_Malaga_Andalucia.html).
Further up in the old town, you can find restaurants with great views and also great food. Very popular El Mirador (https://frigiliana.es/places/restaurante-el-mirador/)

and little further down as well popular Garden Restaurant (https://thegardenfrigiliana.com/).

Two of our favorites are El Casino (https://restaurantguru.com/El-Casino-Frigiliana) with great food and great views over Frigiliana to the Mediterranean and El Colmao Wine & Experiences (https://www.elcolmaowineandexperiences.com/en/).

El Colmao is at the heart of Frigiliana old town and that creates a special atmosphere to this place. The wine selection is beyond your imagination, and you can also buy the wine to go. The best way to experience El Colmao to our experience is to just sit down and let them serve you tapas and wine. They know how to pair food and wine, and you can just say stop, when you are satisfied.

One more a bit different kind of restaurant is El Boquetillo that serves traditional pub food. There is often live music, and the bar is very popular. They also deliver pizzas, hamburgers and quesadillas after 6pm.
And last but not least Restaurant Puerto Blanquillo (https://restaurantguru.com/Rest-Puerto-Blanquillo-Frigiliana) that is just 200 meters from us, have a nice terrace and serves great traditional Andalusian food.
September and October are perfect for exploring the restaurants here and we still have some availability. What comes to August, as the most significant event of the year approaches, we trust you have secured your booking with us in advance. Otherwise, it’s time to reserve for next year. For more information about the event, please visit https://frigiliana3culturas.com/.
Until next time, with love, Maarit & Hannu
